Packing again, and off to Paris.
February 27th, 2012 | Diana
OMG! I am so excited! This will be my first time attending so many important shows during Paris fashion week. I am hysterical over here! It has being really hard to keep in all the screams I just let it out every time I get reminded I will be seated on very important runways.
I thought I should share how much in love I am with my new Tumi wheeled garment bag. After years, 6 years to be exact, of my best friend bragging about how much she “fits everything in that bag, and it’s so easy to haul it and it’s not so big and sooooo convenient, and it really fits everything! Everything!”So I decided to get it, and I am very glad I did. The bag fits so much stuff. But it was the packing/unpacking that made me fall in love it. My clothes go, from closet; with the hanger; to the bag; to hotel room’s closet; and vice-versa. LOVE IT!

BURBERRY

BURBERRY FALL 2012 and the best jackets, coats, gloves, … can we just skip summer to wear this jackets sooner?
A really cool bag!!!
February 21st, 2012 | Diana
While shopping at Barneys in New York, I came across this really cool bag. It’s Christian Louboutin, but I guess you already knew that by looking at it. How fun would be to open to that every time?! Sorry the poor quality photo, I took with my phone.
New York, New York

Peter Pilotto coat, Balenciaga leather leggings, Mawi London bracelet.
Shopping at Celine. I just have to add this blue vest into my closet.
Diane Von Furstenberg finale walk through.
NYFW Fall’12 (day 7, THE END)
February 20th, 2012 | Diana
This is soooo bad! While everyone ( literally everyone who is someone in the fashion business) is carefully watching and photographing all the fur Michael Kors showed on his fall’12 runway, I found myself obsessing over Anna dello Russo in the front row. I am embarrassed, but I couldn’t cope with my excitement. Just like Tommy Tom’s lens I am drawn into her. She is a breath of fresh air, and a total fashion addict. How can one not love that personality? Unfortunately I was seated too far from Anna to engage in any kind of mini shoes collection talk. Soon Anna! Soon will be chatting about our closet and obsessions.
OMG, this camera sucks! She actually was a lot closer than what it looks like.
Here are some images of Michael Kors’ Fall 12. I chose not to write about Michael Kors’ fall collection. Come on! The man is sitting on the top off the world, on a very large pile of money. Who cares what I think about his collection, right? Just a quick shout out to PETA _ it’s time!
Michael Kors Fall’12
Proenza Schouler Fall’12
Just as expected, the boys never let me down. Samurai (Asia again) like models walked the runway with the best clothes seen over this week. The hard work transpired into the magnifique woven leather clothes. FANTASTIC, that was the outcome of the best show ever seen from Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez.
NYFW Fall’12 (day 6, Valentine’s Day)
February 20th, 2012 | Diana
A picture taken by my husband while I was visiting his not so glamourous but super fun world at Toy Fair.
I am wearing Givenchy coat, Balenciaga leather leggings, Alexander McQueen shoes, and Celine handbag.
Luckily I started going to the NY for Fashion Week around 2 years ago. Before I used to go to NY for DNA and Coterie trade shows, which always starts the day fashion week is over. So hubby and I wouldn’t see each other for close to 3 weeks. New York Fashion Week always coincide with Toy Fair. A huge kids toys trade show my husband have been part of it for 5 years now. So this year, for the first time, I decided to stop by and surprise my husband on Valentine’s Day. There is something about Valentine’s day in city, everyone looks in love, flowers are being sold on every corner and, people are happily caring perfectly rapped boxes. Before I went to visit my husband, I went to a pharmacy on Grand Central Station to find the card isle destroyed and empty. I still managed to pick a card, and off to the Javits I went. Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
To continue with the romantic mood, Oscar de la Renta showed garments that I thought it was specially designed for Disney’s Princesses. You would think so too! _ Even if not brained washed 15 minutes earlier by Disney toys and tons of pink over at the Toy Fair. _ The runway was a princess dream come true. With all the Cinderella baby blue, the huge amount of faux-jewels from head to toe; even in print forms; and silhouettes of royal kind on the runway – Oscar managed to make me want to, of all people, step into at least one of his FUN FUN FUN designs. Oh I wish I had a ball to go with my prince in one of those fabulous gowns!
Oscar de la Renta Fall’12
Tell me Cinderella wouldn’t die to have all the options above for the ball?!
NYFW Fall’12 (day 5)
February 20th, 2012 | Diana
I would like to apologize for the long post ahead of time. There is not much to read as the images speak from themselves. Monday, day 5, was crazy busy, and I didn’t get to take pictures of my outfit. I promise a later post on everything NYC.
The Row Fall’12
I have grown to love the simplicity and timeless pieces The Row presents season after season. Yummy leather and cashmere garments will always be part of our everyday wardrobes, and the less complicated, the better. Monochrome garments from black to white, introducing shades of brow, fur and trimmings of fur kept me interested during its presentation at the Carlyle Hotel.
Preen Fall’12
A bit confused!? is this Spring??? The colors and patterns are screaming Spring, and only two coats was showed. But why should I care? I live in L.A.! Preen has filled 1/3 of my wardrobe for the past three years, and I have no intensions of changing the future. Botanical flowers, butterfly prints and lace are not some of the things I go for it when shopping, but the way Preen put it out was just perfect for me. Modern, sophisticated, rich, strong, sexy, bold and interesting is exactly what I want to have in my closet lately.
Theyskens’ Theory Fall’12
Effortlessly and beautifully! Oliver Theyskens’ Theory urban (over commercialized) collection, always sends that vibe. This time around, Oliver explain he added a bit of more chic pieces into the easy sexy must have it all collection.
Phillip Lim Fall’12
An obligatory need to talk about 3.1 Phillip Lim’s collection.
It was 5 to 6 years ago when I felt in love and needed to have my wardrobe filled with Lim’s creation. Just as fast as seasons go by, Lim was no longer welcome to my closet, I started skipping his rack at Barney’s. What was he doing? Girly clothes that screamed insecure and uptight. It was last fall Lim won be back, fully back. I am in need of all he has to give. FYI: The Spring’12 collection, in stores now, is to die for.
Despite the fact Phillip Lim showed a lot more than white garments, it was those looks that called my attention the most. I have unsuccessfully trying to wear white during the winter, and still my favorite for the last two winters. When a room is filled of black and dark colors is hard to go unrecognized in white. When I saw these white garments, I felt at ease to create what I want it badly for so long. I truly disagree with whomever said “No white after labor day!” You have no vision, do you?
Marc Jacobs Fall’12
You won’t catch me dead in those hats or shoes, but in everything between, most likely! Marc Jacobs put up a show, a cross between fashion and art. Please don’t think this is the way you are suppose to wear the clothes. This is for pure enjoyment, an over-stylized anti-sexy way to have everyone talking about, in what people like to believe, the best show ever!
NYFW Fall’12 (day 4)
February 20th, 2012 | Diana
Leave it to my best friend to make day four less stiff and very animated. Eighteen hours on ALAÏA high heels have never felt so easy to handle, not to mention the fortitude she brought into my day. Here is a picture taken by Maina, my bff, across from the Lincoln Center. It was hard to control the burst of laughter, keep myself from peeping on my pants_close to impossible. Maina made me feel so comfortable, like I was among old good friends. For a minute I forgot where I was, and asked Amanda Brooks, Barney’s VP Women’s Fashion Director, “Barney’s rumors of going bankrupt still going around, is it true? How do you handle those rumors every year, season after season?” She was very angry,”I can’t answer that!” She shouted inside her mouth with an evil face. “Ai ai ai… what have I said? Not good!”
To what matters more the Barney’s current state. Here is a report of the shows seen today.
Zac Posen Fall’12
Another day, another designer, another time passing through Asia. This time Zac Posen takes us to Japan, but I have decided not emphasize on the the garments that clearly showed that. Zac Posen’s gala gowns glamour was what had me. After seeing his Golden Globes red-carpet creations on the celebs Elle Macpherson, Reese Whiterspoon, and Kelly Osbourne, I was consumed to see Dita Von Teese sitting on the front row. She is the perfect body for the dramatic, perfectly contoured, draped to perfection silhouettes.
Moncler Grenoble Fall’12
Moncler made me cry, laugh, dance!!! The brand of our choice when hitting the slopes or relaxing over at the logde, leaved up to its expectation throwing a show to talk about it. 180 skaters presented the line at the Wollman Rink in Central Park.
The highlight of my week! You can see it for yourself.
I hope you enjoyed the review of New York Fashion Week day 4
NYFW Fall’12 (day 3 final report)
February 18th, 2012 | Diana
PHENOMENAL!!! OMG!!! Are we in Paris??? Is this really what are we going to experience at NYFW from now on??? I am so excited!!!
Altuzarra and Prabal Gurung has brought a new begging to the american fashion. They are proving _ “move on with the old, coming in with all new”. Enough said!
Altuzarra Fall’12
Last Fall, Altuzarra, made everyone obsess over the oversized parka. This time around, the very talented parisian, made me fall in love with the over the knee boots and the very intriguing tailored jackets. Joseph Altuzarra, the CFDA/Vogue fashion fund 2011 award winner, said the collection ”it was about mixing everything”. I like to say it was wonderful! To me an army of gipsies with plenty of wealth and tons of elegance. And for now, we’ll wait until the collection hits the racks this fall. Unfortunately, in LA with can find it on Maxfield and Opening Ceremony.
Prabal Gurung Fall’12
Do those designs remind you of someone’s design? Not only his previous Spring’12 season?_ Perhaps Ricardo Tisci or Alexander McQueen!?
Regardless, Prabal Gurung is designing with every woman in mind. Every woman has a dark and sweet side to them, right?! Going from black to ivory; from sharp tailored suits; to red-carpet feathers and embellishments. Prabal Gurung showed why his chinese clients love him and his starlettes can’t get enough of him. The man has people talking about it! He landed on Bergdorf Goodman this Spring, and I will happily watch him take the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund this year. The American Fashion is in need of new young talents like Prabal Gurung.
