September Issue

Every year my hubby gets together with his accountant (known to me as The Nuisance) and both of them go over details of our family finances.  Every year it’s always around the same time, and about the same thing.  After I get called out on my shopping expenses, a fancy folder gets dropped in front of me—keeping graphics with the current colors of the season.  I guess it’s to get me a little more involved.  Oh wait, it gets better, he is getting so creative now; he highlights the most popular stores and designers of the year.  What? Is this his version of Vogue?!
After I point out some “mistakes”—charges that accidentally made their way to Diana’s Clothing Expenses—like my daughter’s obsession for little Chanel bags and her love for Barneys; repeat (several times) that Prada is a future investment; clarify that
“Curve” is not a store, but an exercise program; assure that Des Kohan is my psychologist who is not over-priced (as I clearly have a lot of issues); I give up making up lies, I make a sad face and promise to take it easy.  Unsurprisingly, my husband is as consistent as everything else in this picture.  Before he gets up to finish the meeting he says, “THAT IS IT. YOU ARE GOING ON A BUGDET.”  And just like that, my September Issue arrives.
So I have to do what I do best, make him proud and keep myself happy with a very limited amount of clothes. I know you can’t see me, but I am bawling right know. Whoever invented the word “budget” clearly has zero knowledge of Alaïa, The Row and Balmain.
Now I need to clear my thoughts and focus on what I will be buying this season within “the budget”.  Fashion Gods and Zara, please help me throughout this tough time.  It’s Fashion Week Season!!!
With that said, I leave here with what my Fall 12 picks would have been if I could get it all.
