The one that matters

Lee Oliveira, one of my favorite street style photographers, took this photo at the Jardins des Tuileries after the Chloe show during this past Paris Fashion Week.
In the current Circus of Fashion, to me, it’s quite important to be captured by the few ones that really matter.

when in black…

So here I am blabbing again about how well black everything makes me feel. Yesterday I placed a visit to my favorite store in LA, Des Kohan. A bit under pressure but willing; I tried on a pair printed pants and blouse from a new designer they just got in. _ Dusan, but I will talk about it later. Once again I took account of the already knew; I don’t do prints! Or loud colors, or floral, or lace … I left the store with a BLACK trench coat.
Once home, I placed my new purchase in the closet and took a look around. It’s all black. I got reminded with what Des, the store owner said _ “She is our all black girl!”
So I counted; 78 black pumps, 32 black cocktails dresses, 13 black blazers, 12 black trousers, … what a blassé!? What should I do with this addiction? But I have been so happy with all black for all this years! There are no colors out there that can replace black.
And this is what goes over my mind every time before I purchase one more black item. HELP!

Back to Cali

NYFW came to an end last night. Marc Jacobs was the last to show and WHAT A SHOW?! He had me with all the mesh, sequins, fur, mohair, plaid. OMG, I want it all! Do I need to say he was definitely my favorite of NYFW?
NYFW was fun, but I am glad to be back home. This was the first time I wasn’t enjoying Fashion Week at it’s fullest. Not sure if it was; _ The weather conditions? Getting my UBER stolen at least twice a day? My IPhone battery life of 3 hours? Not enough alcohol going around? The amount of random, not legit, street style photographers? Or fellow bloggers wearing silk, sandals, lace and a little leather jacket over their shoulders on 30 degrees snow blizzard? UGH?! The last one set the tone for the week; it was ridiculous tacky.
But for right now, I am here on a warm 75 degrees weather planning to spend the next 10 days doing nothing but enjoying my family and friends. Did I mention it is super warm and delicious outside?

I have to be honest, I am not into layering clothes. I don’t know how; too many layers make me lose the freedom to talk with my hands and, there are plenty of girls pulling the perfect bag lady look.
Twenty years of living in Brasil just required a jacket when was cold outside. I am much more sympathetic to the minimalistic look.
Couple weeks ago, it was colder than I ever had experienced before here in L.A.. So I put the effort, _ reminding myself NYFW is around the corner _ and actually surprised myself with a layering soiree. The attempt came better than my brain could’ve imagined; I didn’t look like an Olsen twin. I kept my identity; my personality was all over regardless of the five layers on its way.
Fur + Fur + Jumpsuit + Jacket! Have I made you proud?

Givenchy esteem.

I love being vulnerable; Givenchy allows me to get to that place season after season. I have a huge appreciation for the romantic but yet strong pieces Givenchy delivers. And I am in an endless shopping spree for all Givenchy to be added into my closet. Givenchy conveys me to feel untouchable, confident, alluring, powerful, intoxicating, audacious, indomitable … Ok, I guess you got it! But regardless, I still could not get myself to approach Ricardo Tisci last September to thank him for such a complete, in my point of view, possibility he keeps creating for me. At that moment, sitting at Hotel Costes patio on a table next to Ricardo, my creator, all the strength went away to a weak place I had not met yet. I am positive I still will run into him again. I am still going to have the opportunity to thank him for creating the perfect feelings, but this time I will be very aware that my words will come from a very strong weak place.
Now, to all it matters in this blog. How staggering are these boots?
I couldn’t help the necessary to get those as soon as the Resort collection was presented. I was even angry Kim Kardashian gotten hers before mine arrived. Thanks to Kayne, otherwise she would still be in bandage dresses, 160 mm platform pumps and holding sparkly crystals clutches.
However, if I have not inspired you yet? I hope Kim delivers you the Givenchy esteem.

Style notes
January 16th, 2013 | Diana
“I am in a non stop pursuit to keep my style as simple as black and white. Le Smoking will make more appearances in my day and night wear. I want to go back to my roots. Slightly gothic, rock chic, erotic, immaculate, elegant, timeless.
I want to be surrounded by effortless but stylish pieces. I want lots of black; I want to get lost in black.
I will wear halter tops, harnesses, and bell bottoms; just like in my twenties. I want to make appearances in exaggerated female silhouettes, open backs and sheer drapery. I desire and demand the edge back, the sensuality and the glamour.”
Those were notes of my style revolution at one point; I think I like it. It all looks as I am going that way after all.
Now let me go develop Bulimia or Anorexia, go to the gym and shop to concur what I promised myself.

what I do best …
January 11th, 2013 | Diana
For the ones that don’t know. Before I started blogging I used to design for my own women’s contemporary line. It was called Dar-Ti, and it was founded in October 2009. Two months later I find out I was pregnant; it was a happy surprise. Luckily I never had a bad pregnancy day. Oops wait, expect when I fired everyone at once; Maid, Gardner, Decorator, assistant. _ Besides that, the outrageous presence of energy allowed me to work till the second the anesthesiology refused to let me take my phone to the operating room with me.
Dar-Ti’s first showing was Autumn/Winter 2010, in February 2010. I booked exceeding numbers with two major e-commerce companies and several boutiques. I did good, really good. My hard work had paid off, and I was thrilled. But as soon as I saw Maddi’s face, she overtook my heart, mind and soul. Dar-Ti was put aside just after its first season. I was sad, but content with the choice of truly living motherhood at its full. But once I got tired of poop, throw up, food stains, music class, gym class, mommy and me class, diapers.com, strollers; … I let the nanny finally assume her position, and found myself again. Back than, still to controlling to go back to work at Dar-Ti (I used to work at least 18 hours a day), I started the blog. It’s been a great year; I thank you for that. But I can say, I am finally ready to go back and do what I know best! That does not mean I am freeing you up of my bad English skills, this blog is a big part of me, and will permanence until I say so.
